Madison, February 16, 2018 - Where Is Care is happy to announce its partnership with DeForest Area Community & Senior Center, a gathering place for people of all ages from across Dane County. DeForest Area Community & Senior Center offers case management for people ages 60+ who are living independently in the DeForest, Windsor, and Vienna areas. The community center is a congregate meal site Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for people ages 60+ and also offers exercise classes for that population. DeForest area seniors can also reserve transportation to clinics and shopping centers in Dane County. The community center is also a resource for food for those with low income.
Senior Services Supervisor and Social Worker Natalie Raemisch hopes that working with Where Is Care will give DeForest Area Community & Senior Center a broader outreach to online users as well as to hospitals and clinics that could refer patients in the DeForest area for resources.
When asked about how staff at her senior center might make use of this tool, Raemisch commented that "[Where Is Care] will be useful for our Case Managers to do a quick search for resources we do not use very often. It would be helpful to give this resource to people we cannot work with long-term.”
"Providing new and effective ways for our community's elders to find affordable services that meet there needs is an important part of our work" said Where Is Care CEO, Kevin Dwyer. "It's great to have the support of the DeForest Area Community & Senior Center because of their close connection to the community. We're looking forward to working with their team moving forward. Their perspective will help to inform how we develop our software so it better suits our elders and those who work with them."
