Madison, February 10, 2018 - Where Is Care is pleased to announce their collaboration with Affordable Dental Care, Inc., an organization that provides affordable general dental care to those who are uninsured or unable to afford traditional dental fees.
The need for improved access to low-cost dental care continues to be significant. “One in three Wisconsin children are living with untreated dental decay, the most preventable chronic disease in the United States. Children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) are twice as likely to have unmet dental needs. In addition, disproportionate levels of access to oral health care exist in minority and low-income populations. Nationally, 80% of dental decay affects 20% of children.” according to information published by the Children’s Health Alliance of Wisconsin.
Affordable Dental Care Executive Director Krysta Wetzel is hopeful that working with Where Is Care will help streamline the process of patient scheduling by directing patients to the Affordable Dental Care, Inc. website where they are able to schedule their own appointments.
“Care providers have a huge lack of referral options in this area on where to send someone suffering from dental disease or pain, without insurance or the ability to play traditional dental fees. 1 in 3 people are without access to the dental care they can afford,” said Wetzel. By raising awareness of the services that Affordable Dental Care Inc. provides and making their website more accessible, a partnership with Where Is Care can help address this problem.
